I’m well known for being a notorious, java lovin’, coffee guzzling, caffeine addict. If people came with warning labels, you would see “I haven’t had my coffee yet…don’t make me kill you” flashing across my forehead like an Apple iPhone app at times. About 80.00% of the updates to this website and articles I’ve written are powered by “Maxwell house” while the remaining 19.99% is by whatever delightful high test sludge that the local convenient store serves up. Too bad that Starbucks is not a little closer to me, mind you Starbucks is not nearly as culturally diverse nor as interesting when compared to other Coffee Shops or Cafes.
Speaking of updates, I’ve replaced the “What’s Up” page with a new category section called “What’s Up” dedicated to postings and announcements about iDude.net and iDude himself (ummm that would be me, Chaz Scholton). I’m in the midst of taking iDude.net through radical changes. Recently adding the following sections to the site as well; Music, Music Reviews, and Web Development. There’s a lot more changes and new things to come. I’ve added a special language translation option that is powered by Google translate.
Originally iDude was a self-branding and business personification I created, over a decade ago, centered around the iHTML server sided programming language. iHTML is pretty much dead now; I became one of the last Mohicans in a niche programming market. Now, It’s time to simply take the iDude persona in new directions. I had thought some about jumping on the Apple iPod, iPad, iTouch or iWhatever bandwagon, but nah…I’ll pass on making that the center of attention and focus. Mind you, I just might touch upon these topics from time to time in the future.
I’m contemplating about adding a new category soon that encompasses content geared towards professional and personal lifestyles. The shape of things to come depends the type of articles I end up writing.
At the moment, I’m using “WordPress” to publish content on this website. I’ve been tweaking the site layout and design, figuring out what features to add while exploring the all source code underneath. I’m quickly becoming acquainted with the strengths and weaknesses of WordPress. Needless to say, I’m learning how to beat up the source code to get WordPress to do the things I’m used to doing or want to do. I plan on Blogging or writing “WordPress” articles and publishing them under the “Web Development” section of iDude.net. WordPress holds a heavy market share in powering websites on the internet, and there are a million and one people writing about it. So this should prove to be challenging in coming up with; useful, blunt, unique or interesting material to write about.
Another facet I’m considering exploring writing about is business. Be it ecommerce, marketing or the whole Business 2.0 hyped up bandwagon in general. There are a lot of topics I’d love to cover such as Branding, Audience targeting, Cogitative Dissonance, Kanban, Just-in-time (JIT) production, Lean Thinking and more. Business processes and logic has always fascinated me and is something I’ve always enjoyed. However, the lack of it has also equally alarmed or disturbed me.
Music is another category which I love very much, including music production and promotion. I also have a love for design in general, be it aesthetic or in functionality. I might get around to writing a rant about how most “coffee makers” are poorly designed, yet we (as the human race) are able to design and build things to send people into space or deep under the ocean. I may start a list of poorly designed coffee makers, humorous yet informative. Personally speaking, I’ve had some nightmare experiences with poorly designed coffee makers. It’s pretty sad, that so many people holding degree’s in Engineering/design fail when it comes to the design of the mighty mighty Coffee Maker. It’s the household gas pump fueling up so many people.
Technology, goes hand in hand with many interesting areas of life. Many people are quick to mentally associate Technology with computers and the internet now days. However, there are a lot of extremely interesting things going on in other areas. There always has and will be many Pros and Cons involving technology. So this is yet another area I may be venturing into with articles and things to write about.
Hopefully, there will be a little something for everybody on iDude.net.
I’ll be posting updates and announcements in the “What’s Up” section.
I want to thank everybody for their support, visits, Facebook shares and links to things I’ve posted so far.
